Lesley Alexander - An Exhibition of Botanical Works
13th - 31st October
Pod Gallery

"Walking round the fresh produce section of a supermarket, a walk in the reserve or an urban street hold equal fascination for me! It is these places where I discover my next subject to paint, often finding the best natural treasures in the most unlikely of places.

All plants are beautiful, even those past their best fascinate me and I love capturing the beauty and subtlety of colour and texture with watercolour or ink.
Botanical art is a marriage of art and science and my paintings are always the result of an amazing voyage of discovery. They can often take 100 hours from initial sketches, dissections to finished artwork as I endeavour to capture the tiny details, allowing the viewer to discover the beauty within." L A

Moments in Time
Simon and Yenlee Capper
Both galleries
26 August - 12th Sep 2020
Opening Night Friday 28th August 5-7 pm

Intricate ink pen drawings of nature by Yenlee Capper and
Imagined landscape oil paintings by Simon Capper.

We are a married couple that is lucky enough to share our creativity.  We create very different types of artwork.  But in some important ways they are also the same.
We both work to capture and share an idea or an emotion that is meaningful and has value in that moment.
Yenlee likes to express those moments through the beauty of the flora and fauna of the natural world.
Simon likes to show those moments though making elemental imagined landscapes.
We both hope to share these moments in time with you.

Bedazzle
Main Gallery
Feb 4 - Feb 22
Opening night 5th Feb

Auckland artists Di Morritt and Laureen Pipkin adore bold colours and the happy energised emotions they evoke in us.  As we move into our Kiwi summer they’ve joined forces for this exhibition, to celebrate their love of colour and to remind us of how positively it impacts on our emotions and lives.  For their painting they both draw on their memories and influences of their pasts and believe that their paintings will “bedazzle” the people who look at them.
