Discover Nature Journaling - EcoFest2024
Facilitated by Lesley Alexander
Saturday the 16th of March
2 x Half Day workshops
Morning session: 10am - 12:30
Afternoon session: 1:30pm-4pm
Workshop Cost per person:
$20 Adult
$5 Child 5-11years – must be with a paying adult.
Included materials:
Paper, graphite pencils, colour pencils.
Feel free to bring your own sketchbook and art materials if you have them – e.g. if you want to use watercolours you will need to bring your paints, brushes and water pot or aqua pens.
Nature Journaling is a great way to get back to nature, bringing with it a sense of calm and well-being, an antidote to our busy, tech driven lives.
With just the basics of paper and pencils, you will learn how to look and recognise the things in nature that you appreciate and that bring you pleasure. You will leave with notes and ideas, allowing you to carry on at home, on holiday, or whenever you get the chance!
We will discuss what Nature Journaling is and through using a series of prompts you will soon be in a relaxed frame of mind documenting your natural finds in words and sketches. This is an ideal activity to do with children and this could be the start of lifetime love of the
natural world around them.
No artistic ability is required, just a desire to connect more with nature. This is an ideal activity to do with children and this could be the start of lifetime love of the natural world around them.
What better way to build a lasting creative connection with the environment!
Oh, and bring a rug or chair to sit on! Ideally, we will be outside, but if it is bad weather, we will be inside.
