IMPORTANT MESSAGE RELATING TO L4 LOCKDOWN - PLEASE READ BEFORE ENTERING! Read No.27 (below) If we are unable to hold the Awards in our gallery due to Covid restrictions the exhibition will be held online. It is vitally important you submit good images of your work/entry as they will be used by the Judge as well as for an online gallery. If the image is not of a good standard it will not be selected.
What is a good photograph of the artwork? In focus, sharp and clear, no glare, large enough to be seen well, and cropped to just the artwork (no frame or mount or table), with no watermark/copyright text on the image, so the photo can be used?
Terms & Conditions
Please read carefully before filling out an entry form.
A maximum of two artworks can be entered per artist.
All artworks must be for sale.
The entry fee of $10 per entry (+ $5 per ‘youth’ entry) must be paid before Sep 20th. 5pm. Entries will not be accepted if fees have not been paid.
This is selected exhibition. The final decision on works accepted rests with Kumeu Arts. No correspondence will be entered in to regarding the selection of works. Artists will be notified of the selection by email.
All entries are non-refundable (even if unselected).
Media. Work in any media can be entered into the awards including Three-dimensional work and photography.
Size restrictions. Two-dimensional works must be a maximum of 1000mm wide X 1000mm high (excluding framing). Weight must not exceed 5kg. Three-dimensional works must be free-standing and a maximum of 2000mm high by 1500mm in any other direction.
Entry forms must be FULLY completed, including pricing. Incomplete entry forms and late entries will not be accepted. No changes to entries will be accepted after they have been sent.
Entry age. Artists entering must be 12yrs or older. However, artists aged 12-18yrs must indicate they are entering one of the two ‘young artist’ categories on their entry form.
KACI receives 30% commission on any work sold. Fees will be deducted from the artist’s payment at the end of the exhibition. Any tax liability is the responsibility of the artist.
Work must be clearly labelled on the back with artist’s name, title of work, and price.
Work must remain in the exhibition until it finishes on Saturday the 27th of November. 5pm.
Work must have been completed within the last two years & not entered into any previous competition
Works must be originals. Prints are not accepted.
Work to be delivered to Kumeu Arts Centre on the given dates/times. Tues 12th Oct - Tues 19th Oct
Work must be suitably packaged with bubble wrap, cardboard or boxed. While all care will be taken, KACI will not be responsible for loss or damage while the work is in transit or while being exhibited. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Wrapping/Packaging should be labelled.
Work must be suitably prepared for display i.e. mounted and/or framed, with hangers and tightly strung with string/cord. D-Rings are preferable.
Wet work will not be accepted.
Fragile works. Please advise us if any works are fragile and could potentially break
You mustprovide a digital image (jpg maximum 1MB) of your work along with your entry for the selection process. Jpeg should be named the same as on entry form.
Couriered work. Work will be returned at your cost. You must provide suitable bags, return tickets and packaging.
Unsold work to be collected on the given date. KACI has very limited storage space therefore work not collected after 7 days of the given dates will incur a $10 per day storage fee. Work remaining uncollected after 2 months will become the property of KACI.
Images of exhibited works may be used by KACI for publicity purposes. By submitting this form the artist gives their permission for KACI to do so.
This is an ‘open’ exhibition. Artists do not need to be members of Kumeu Arts to enter.
Photography Entries. To submit entries into the photography prize it must be created using the medium of photography (E.G. Camera, film or photographic printing techniques). Entries entered into the photography prize are still eligible to win other prizes.
The Judge will remain anonymous until the judging has been completed. Their decision is final and will not be called in to question.
#COVID – 19 Terms and Conditions may apply. In the event of a Lockdown for COVID – 19 or govt retrcitions affecting this year’s awards they will held online. Selection and judging will be completed online and a subsequent online exhibtion will be published. Dates may change. Prizes will still be awarded but no ceremony will be held. In this scanario entires are non –refundable.
