2026 KAA ONLINE ENTRY FORM
WITH TERMS & CONDITIONS 

 The Kumeū Arts Awards is a selected Exhibition

  • Entries are submitted online and via email only.
  • ​You can submit a maximum of 1 artwork. 
  • Entry fees: $20 per artwork or $6 per Youth Entry (ages 12-15yrs or 16-18yrs).
  • Your entry fee must be paid at the time of entering.
  • Read the T&Cs carefully before completing this form.
  • Photographing. your artwork: Your image should be in focus, sharp and clear, with no glare and large enough to be seen well. There should be no text, including watermark/copyright mark on the photograph. Crop the image to just the artwork (the frame/mount/table or background should not be included).
  • You will be notified if your artwork has been selected by Tuesday 22 September.
  • Selected Artworks are to be delivered in person to Kumeū Arts between Sat 10 October and Saturday 17 October. Couriered Artworks must be received at Kumeū Arts by Friday 16 October.​

Please read through carefully, before completing the entry form.
​Entry & Selection
This is a selected exhibition; not all entries will be accepted. The final decision regarding the selection of artworks rests with Kumeū Arts. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection process or individual artworks.
  1. One artwork per artist. Each artist may submit a maximum of one artwork.
  2. Entry fee. The entry fee is $20 per artwork, or $6 for YOUTH entries, and must be paid on the same day the entry form is submitted. Entries will not be accepted until the applicable fee has been received. All entry fees are GST inclusive.
  3. Entry fees are non-refundable. The entry fee will not be refunded if your artwork is not selected for the exhibition.
  4. Selection notification. Artists will be notified by email of the exhibition selection by Tuesday 22 September. Please see the delivery information below for artwork drop-off dates.
  5. Open to all artists. This is an open exhibition. You do not need to be a member of Kumeū Arts to enter.
  6. YOUTH ENTRY. Artists must be 12 years or older to enter. Young artists are eligible for all prizes. Artists aged 12–18 years must indicate on their entry form whether they are entering one of the two Young Artist categories -12-15 yrs or 16-18 yrs.
Artwork Eligibility
  1. Recent work only. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years and must not have been entered in any previous competition.
  2. All work must be for sale. Every artwork entered must be available for purchase.
  3. Complete entry forms. Entry forms must be fully completed and include the artwork title, medium, dimensions and sale price, along with a high-quality digital image of the artwork. Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted. No changes to an entry will be accepted once the form has been submitted.
  4. Digital image requirements. The artwork image must be a high-quality JPG file, no larger than 2MB. The file should be named with the artist’s surname and the title of the artwork, matching the information provided on the entry form.
  5. Commission. Kumeū Arts receives 34.5% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition. This commission will be deducted from the artist’s payment at the conclusion of the exhibition. Any personal tax or GST obligations arising from the sale are the responsibility of the artist.
  6. Size restrictions.
  7. Two-dimensional works: maximum 1000mm wide × 1000mm high, excluding the frame. Maximum weight 5kg.
  8. Three-dimensional works: maximum 2000mm high × 1500mm in any other direction. Works must be free-standing or otherwise suitable for display.
  9. Media. Works in any medium may be entered, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and photography.
  10. Photography Prize. To be eligible for the Photography Prize, the work must be created using photography as the primary medium, including digital or film photography and photographic printing techniques. Photography entries remain eligible for consideration for all other prizes.
  11. Original work only. Submitted works must be original artworks. Prints or reproductions of existing original artworks will not be accepted, except where the print itself is the original artwork, such as printmaking or photographic processes. AI-generated images are not accepted.
  12. Condition of work. Wet, unfinished, unstable or otherwise unsuitable works will not be accepted.
Preparing Your Artwork
  1. Artwork labelling. The back or underside of each artwork must be clearly labelled with the artist’s name, artwork title and price. This information must exactly match the entry form.
  2. Ready for display. All artworks must be suitably prepared for exhibition. Two-dimensional works should be appropriately mounted and/or framed, fitted with suitable hanging hardware and securely strung with wire, cord or similar. D-rings are preferred. Three-dimensional works must be stable and either self-supporting or suitably prepared for wall display.
  3. Packaging. Artwork must be suitably and securely packaged when delivered, using bubble wrap, cardboard, a box or other appropriate protective material. All packaging must be clearly labelled with the artist’s name. Display instructions may be included with three-dimensional works where required.
  4. Fragile works. Please advise Kumeū Arts at the time of delivery if your artwork is particularly fragile or requires special handling.
Delivery & Collection
  1. Insurance & responsibility. Insurance of artwork is the responsibility of the artist. While every reasonable care will be taken, Kumeū Arts Centre Incorporated accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to artwork during transit, delivery, collection or while on display.
  2. Delivery of selected works. Selected artworks may be delivered to Kumeū Arts during gallery opening hours between Sat 10 October and Saturday 17 October. Kumeū Arts is closed Sundays and Mondays.
    Opening hours: Tuesday–Friday 9am–5pm; Saturday 10am–4pm.
  3. Couriered artwork. Couriered artworks must arrive at Kumeū Arts between Thursday 8 October and Friday 16 October. Return of couriered artwork will be at the artist’s expense. Artists must provide suitable return packaging and a prepaid return ticket/arrangement. Please allow 2–3 weeks for artwork to be returned after the exhibition.
  4. Artwork must remain on display. Selected artwork must remain in the exhibition until it closes at 5pm on Wednesday 25 November. Works cannot be removed or collected before this time.
  5. Collection of unsold work. Unsold artwork must be collected on the designated collection dates. Kumeū Arts has very limited storage space. Artwork not collected within 7 days of the designated collection date will incur a $10 per day storage fee. Any artwork remaining uncollected after 2 months may become the property of Kumeū Arts.
Exhibition & Judging
  1. Selected exhibition & placement. Selected works will be included in a large-scale, salon-style group exhibition and displayed across all three Kumeū Arts galleries, including the Pip Window Gallery. The final selection, placement and curation of works will be at the sole discretion of Kumeū Arts. No correspondence will be entered into regarding exhibition placement, and by submitting an entry, artists acknowledge and accept the curatorial decisions made by Kumeū Arts.
  2. Use of images. Images of submitted and exhibited artworks may be used by Kumeū Arts for promotional, publicity and archival purposes. By submitting an entry, the artist grants Kumeū Arts permission to use these images for these purposes.
  3. Judging. The judge will remain anonymous until judging has been completed. The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding judging decisions.
