Terms & Conditions of entry

 - This is a selected Awards Exhibition. Read the T&C's carefully below before entering. 
 - Entries are submitted online and via email only. 

 - The online entry form will be available from the 1st of September until the 14th of September, 5pm. 
​ - To be considered, your entry fee must be paid for alongside your entry form. 
 - Entry Fee per work: $20 per artwork or $6 per Youth Entry (ages 12-15 + 16-18yrs)
 - Selected works are to be delivered in person to Kumeū Arts between 8th Oct & 22nd of Oct.
 - Couriered work should be delivered to Kumeū Arts between 8th October and 17th October.  


Terms and Conditions:
Please read carefully

  1. This is a selected exhibition; not all entries are accepted. The final decision on works accepted rests with Kumeū Arts. Correspondence will not be entered in to regarding the selection of artworks. 
  2. A maximum of one artwork can be entered per artist.
  3. The entry fee of $20 per artwork and $6 YOUTH entry, must be paid the same day you submit the form.  Entries are not accepted if fees are unpaid. The entry fee includes gst.
  4. Entry fees are non-refundable, even if your work is not selected.
  5. Artists will be notified of the 'Exhibition Selection' via email by Thursday 18th of September. (See below for artwork delivery dates).
  6. This is an ‘open’ exhibition. Artists do not need to be a member of Kumeū Arts to enter.​
  7. YOUTH ENTRY: Artists entering must be 12yrs or older. Young artists are eligible for all prizes. However, artists aged 12-18yrs must indicate they are entering one of the two ‘young artist’ categories on their entry form.
  8. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years and not entered into any previous competitions.
  9. All artworks must be for sale. 
  10. Entry forms must be FULLY completed, including artwork title, medium, size and price. And include a high-quality digital image. Incomplete entry forms and late entries will not be accepted. No changes to entries will be accepted after they have been sent.
  11. The high-quality digital image of your artwork should be uploaded as a jpg (maximum 2MB).  The image file should be named with your surname and have the same as the title of work on the entry form. 
  12. Kumeū Arts receives 34.5% commission on any work sold. This is deducted from the artist’s payment at the end of the exhibition. Any tax (GST) liability is the responsibility of the artist.
  13. Size restrictions: Two-dimensional works must be a maximum of 1000mm wide X 1000mm high (excluding framing). Weight must not exceed 5kg. Three-dimensional works must be free-standing and a maximum of 2000mm high by 1500mm in any other direction.​
  14. Media: Work in any media can be entered into the awards including three-dimensional work and photography.
  15. Photography Entries: To submit entries into the photography prize it must be created using the medium of photography (E.G. Camera, film or photographic printing techniques). Entries entered into the photography category are still eligible to win other prizes.
  16. Artwork entered must be an 'original'. A print/reproduction of an original work will not be accepted, (this does not include printmaking or photographic techniques). AI generated images are not accepted. 
  17. Wet work, and artwork unsuitable for display will not be accepted.
  18. Work must be clearly labelled on the back of the artwork with artist’s name, title of work, and price. Use the same name and title as on entry form.
  19. Work must be suitably prepared for display i.e. mounted and/or framed, with hangers and tightly strung with string/cord. D-Rings are preferable. ​3D work should be stable and either self-supporting or able to hang on the wall.
  20. Your artwork must be suitably packaged on delivery with bubble wrap, or something similar, cardboard or boxed. All wrapping and packaging should be clearly labelled with the artist's name. 3D artworks can include display instructions. 
  21. Fragile works. Please advise us if any works are fragile and could potentially break
  22. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. While all care will be taken, KACI will not be responsible for loss or damage while the work is in transit or while being exhibited. 
  23. Selected Work is to be delivered to Kumeū Arts during gallery hours from: 8th of October to the 22nd of October. Kumeū Arts is closed on Sunday's and Monday's. KA OPEN HOURS: Tues - Fri 9-5, Sat 10 am - 4 pm. 
  24. Couriered work: must arrive by between 8th of October and Friday 17th Oct. Couriered will be returned at your cost. You must provide suitable packaging/bags and a return ticket. Please allow 2-3 weeks for work to be returned to you. 
  25. Work must remain in the exhibition until it finishes on Wednesday the 26th of November. 5pm.
  26. Unsold work is to be collected on the given dates. Kumeū Arts has very limited storage space therefore work not collected after 7 days of the given dates will incur a $10 per day storage fee. Work remaining uncollected after 2 months will become the property of KACI. 
  27. Images of exhibited works may be used by KACI for publicity purposes. By submitting this form, the artist gives their permission for KACI to do so.
  28. The Judge will remain anonymous until the judging has been completed. Their decision is final and will not be called in to question.
The online entry form is available from the 1st of September until the 14th of September 2025.

Awards Timeline 2025

  • 1st - 14th September - Entries open
  • 18th of September - Artists to be notified of the selection. 
  • 8th - 22nd of Oct - Selected artworks to be delivered. (In person OR couriered by 17th October)
  • Saturday 1st of November - KAA Awards Ceremony 4-6pm
  • 3rd - 26th of November - Exhibition of selected artworks
